Huatulco comprises an area of great ecological diversity with a 35 km, (22 miles) stretch of incredible rugged Pacific coastline encompassing jungle hillsides and ravines, beautiful white-sandy beaches, mangrove-laden lowlands plus 3 rivers, the Coyula, San Agustin and Copalita. Huatulco also gives you an impression of the great fishing structure just offshore of the bays. Several fishing hot spots are within short runs of the marinas. One popular location is 3km, (2 miles) west of Cacaluta Island, where canyon areas are as deep as 4000 feet and in some areas to within 800 feet of the surface.
Huatulco’s international airport is just 19 km, (12miles) from the town centre plus Huatulco also attracts more than 50 to 60 cruise ships annually.
Huatulco has 9 bays and 36 separate beaches that are just perfect getaways for a wonderful interaction with nature. Animal life in this tropical region is abundant, with some sightings of white-tailed deer, armadillos, iguanas, squirrels, coatamundi and an incredible variety of bird life. Huatulco's climate is excellent year-round, with an average annual daytime temperature of 28ºC, (82ºF). The ocean temperature is balmy year in and year out. Rainy season runs from approximately June through the middle of October, when storms off the Pacific can bring heavy rainfall but usually not over long periods of time without the sun breaking gloriously through. The lowest winter temperatures do not go below about 14C, (57ºF) and the highest temperatures seldom reach 38C, (100º F).
